The IAEP supported registered nurses (RNs) in Grand Blanc, Michigan on Friday who are on strike for a fair contract.

IAEP National Director Phil Petit and National Representative Nate Smith delivered donuts and stood in solidarity with the RNs of Henry Ford Genesys Hospital, who are members of Teamsters Local 332.

The RNs are protesting for safer working conditions and better nurse-to-patient ratios as they undergo negotiations with the hospital. Teamsters Local 332 have vowed to continue picketing until a fair contract is reached.

The IAEP supports the RNs of Teamsters Local 332 in their fight for improved working conditions. Each part of the healthcare community is crucial to the overall health and welfare of patients, and it is imperative that each and every member that serves within it is afforded the respect, resources and conditions that they deserve.

Solidarity to Teamsters Local 332!

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
