IAEP Local 95, representing the over 100 EMS professionals of UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC), have reached an agreement in principle with the hospital last week that addresses all of the union’s concerns about staffing and patient care. 

The IAEP is proud to support New Jersey General Assembly Bill A6075, the EMS Essential Service legislation. This bill aims to formally designate Emergency Medical Services as an essential service in New Jersey.

The over 100 EMS professionals of UMass Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC), members of IAEP Local 95, are sounding the alarm over worsening staffing issues in the hospital’s EMS Department, which has sparked concern regarding the group’s ability to continue to deliver adequate prehospital care.
