The IAEP is mourning the loss of Rain Chavez, member of IAEP Local R12-370 Care Ambulance.

Chavez was a longtime member and dedicated EMS provider who was loved by her friends, family, patients, and coworkers. She is remembered as a beacon of light, kindness, and joy to her community.

She was respected by her peers, carried herself with compassion, and took pride in doing her job well. Her impact on those around her will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts remain with those who knew and loved her in this difficult time. Local 370 is engaged, reaching out, and standing together to support each other through this tragic loss.

Those who would like to support Chavez’s family can contribute to her memorial GoFundMe.

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
