Congratulations to Local 304's newest Shop Stewards!

Four members of IAEP Local R4-304 Mon EMS of West Virginia completed Shop Steward Training this week, successfully becoming the inaugural members of Local 304's stewardship committee.

Dallas Landry Cottingham, Josh Silver, Addie Hill and Devon Walker all attended the Shop Steward Training hosted by IAEP National Representative Ken Skaggs in Morgantown, WV on Monday night, learning valuable new skills on how to service their fellow members through grievances, contract enforcement, workplace mediations and more.

"With the time they have been willing to give to our organization, we are now better equipped to serve each other," wrote the Local leadership on their Facebook page.

We are so proud of the local and these members for taking this step forward to better fight for the rights of themselves and their colleagues in the workplace. Congratulations, Dallas, Josh, Addie and Devon!

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
