Tim Sprandel

The IAEP is mourning the loss of longtime IAEP Local R7-167 Allina Health member and EMT Tim “Bubba” Sprandel, who passed away unexpectedly last month from complications from cancer at age 63.

Sprandel served as an EMS professional for Allina Health for over 27 years, providing life support and a positive attitude to his community. He is remembered for his joyful spirit, friendly demeanor, and booming voice– always ready to say hello to anyone around him.

His friends and coworkers fondly recall his love of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings, cracking jokes, and always being there for others.

The IAEP sends love and support to those who knew and loved Sprandel during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in Peace, Tim.

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
