IAEP National Representative Kathy Sage attended the "Workers over Billionaires" rally over Labor Day Weekend in Ventura, California. The rally participants stood in support of the working class Americans who have been harmed by the policies and actions of the Trump administration that solely benefit the wealthiest people in this country.

Sage said that the rally stretched several blocks throughout the day, and it was great to see so many people out supporting workers, labor, and human rights.

"The rally was lively and peaceful," said Sage. "We got lots of support from people honking.  The signs were great.  Almost all of them were handmade.  My favorite was a little boy with a sign that said, 'It’s time to use our outdoor voices.'"

The IAEP is proud to see our members and staff out exercising their first amendment rights to demand better for workers!

Photos from the rally can be seen below.

Union Local Tax Issues

Federal law now requires that every local union file an annual information return—Form 990, 990-EZ, or 990-N—with the IRS.

If your local fails to file under this new requirement, your local will lose its tax-exempt status.
