NOMINATIONS
Nominations for officers of Local R12-370 are now being accepted by Election Officer James Rucidlo. All Nominations must be made on Forms provided by the Election Officer. Nomination Forms and Nomination Acceptance Forms may be downloaded from the IAEP website at www.iaep.org/member/information/contact-iaep or by contacting the Election Officer at (617) 376-7266. Forms may be returned via U.S. Mail to IAEP Local R12-370 Election Officer, 159 Burgin Parkway, Quincy, MA, 02169; fax to (617) 472-7566; or email jrucidlo@nage.org before12p.m. PDT, September 24, 2020.
The Local R12-370 Executive Board will consist of seven (7) board officers: President; Vice President – Orange County; Vice President – LA County; Secretary; Treasurer; Chief Shop Steward – Orange County; and Chief Shop Steward – LA County. Candidates for the county specific offices must be employed in the county which they are seeking to represent. The term of office is three years. Nominations (or seconds) received after 12 p.m. PDT on September 24, 2020, will not be valid.
Members may nominate a candidate for any office. All nominations – including self-nominations - must be seconded. A person nominated for more than one position must select the office of their choice; no person may run for or hold more than one office. The term of office is three (3) years. Write-in ballots and absentee ballots will not be accepted. It is the responsibility of members making any nomination to ensure that their nominee returns a Nomination Acceptance Form. Please confirm that the Election Officer receives any nomination you make.

ELECTION
Ballots for the election of officers will be mailed to all members’ last known home address on or about September 29, 2020. To be eligible to vote, you must be a bargaining unit member as of September 24, 2020. All members will have the opportunity to vote for President, Secretary, and Treasurer, while Orange County members will choose their own Vice President and Chief Shop Steward; likewise LA County members will choose their own Vice President and Chief Shop Steward.
Ballots will be picked from the U.S. Post Office, located on Clinton Keith Road in Murrieta, California, at 10 a.m. PDT, Tuesday, October 20, 2020, and will be tallied immediately thereafter at the IAEP Regional Office, 1819 Knoll Drive in Ventura, California. Candidates are welcome to attend (face masks will be required and all social distancing measures will be strictly enforced). Members who are not candidates will be provided a Zoom call-in number in order to observe the process. In the event of a tie vote for any office, ballots to resolve the tie will be mailed immediately following the tally and counted on November 10, 2020. If you know of any member who has not received this notice, please have them contact the Election Officer immediately.
