Members of Local R5-917 Ratify New Contract

The members of Local R5-917, EMS professionals with Polk County EMS of Florida, recently ratified a new contract agreement.
The new agreement, which was ratified unanimously, includes improved contract language and protects numerous benefits for the members of Local 917. Members of the negotiating committee worked diligently to create a fair agreement for both sides, while fighting to improve areas of concern such as their vacation use policies.
“This agreement solidifies a good number of benefits and policies that our members were eager to protect,” said IAEP Director of Organizing Bryan Hamrick. “The improvements to the vacation policy are just one example of the hard work that Local 917’s bargaining team put into these negotiations. Now, more of their fellow members will be able to utilize the vacation time they’ve earned and deserve.”
