The members of Local R2-152, EMS professionals with the Union
Volunteer Emergency Squad of New York, recently ratified a new contract
agreement.
The new agreement, which was ratified overwhelmingly,
includes significant wage increases, significant additional PTO time
and language allowing part-time employees to become eligible for PTO.
Through the diligence of Local 152’s negotiating team the contract also
includes significant gains to health insurance benefits, including 100%
of insurance premiums being paid by the employer.
“Local
152’s new contract speaks volumes about the hard work and dedication of
the negotiating team,” said IAEP National Director. “Despite the
current economic climate, the new contract includes incredible gains to
health insurance costs, wages, PTO, holiday pay and more.”
The
agreement also includes additional monies to cover costs associated with
mandatory certifications and improvements to the grievance and
arbitration policies along with the formation of joint labor management
and safety committees.
