IAEP Salutes Members' Continued Dedication During National EMS Week 2011

May 15, 2011

EMS professionals from around the country are currently celebrating National EMS Week, which runs from May 15 through May 21.  In honor of our members and in recognition of those EMS professionals who have given their lives in the line-of-duty, the IAEP has made a donation to the National EMS Memorial.

“National EMS Week is a time for everyone in the country to stop and recognize the life-saving EMS professionals who are the unsung heroes of public safety,” said IAEP National President David J. Holway.  “We thank you for your continued dedication to your profession and your commitment to improving the communities in which you serve.”

National EMS Week ceremonies are being held in Washington D.C. and communities near you all week long.  Numerous members of the IAEP are involved in events happening nation-wide, and many local officers and members are participating in this year’s National EMS Memorial Bike Ride.  Each year participants in the ride help raise money for the Fallen Angel Fund, which supports the families of providers who have suffered a catastrophic event or to create scholarships awarded to children of line of duty deaths.

The IAEP will continue to fight for your rights as EMS professionals, and will always honor the difficult sacrifices you make every day.
