IAEP Member Utilizes Union Plus Benefits to Help Purchase First Home

First time homebuyer Dirk Schubert, an EMS professional with AMR of Santa Barbara, California and a member of Local R12-70, recently closed on a new home.  While researching what help was available to him, Dirk decided to look into how his Union Plus benefits could help him throughout this lengthy and often frustrating process.

“I’m very glad I did my homework and found out that the bank I received my loan through was a part of the Union Plus program,” said Dirk.  “Through Union Plus I was able to secure a loan that included protections geared towards my union membership.”

Upon looking into his Union Plus benefits, Dirk realized that Chase Bank was a part of the Union Plus family, and he quickly worked with the bank to ensure he received all the additional benefits available to him.

“Through Union Plus I was able to secure protections against unemployment and disability,” said Dirk. “My loan also includes language protecting me should my local ever go on strike.”

Through Union Plus, Dirk was also able to keep any third party fees at a minimum and also received a $500 grocery gift card.

“I’m very grateful for the additional benefits I was able to secure,” said Dirk. “My fiancé and I are very happy to have finally closed on our home and reached the end of this long process.”

The IAEP congratulates to Dirk and his fiancé on purchasing their first home.
