IAEP Member Named Florida's Paramedic of the Year
May 6, 2011
Local R5-365 Vice President Ron Bray, a paramedic with Nature Coast EMS of Florida, was recently named Paramedic of the Year by the Florida Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
“It’s an honor for the members of Local 365 that one of their brothers is being honored for his excellence by the state of Florida,” said IAEP National Director of Servicing Steve Weigand. “Through his dedication, hard work, and professionalism Ron stands as an example of everything an EMS professional should strive to be. He is an inspiration for all of us.”
Bray will join numerous EMS professionals from around the state on July 6 to receive his award at the 21st annual Excellence in EMS Awards. Announced in honor of National EMS Week, which runs from May 15 through May 21, Bray received his award based on his demonstration of “independent initiative in the areas of quality assurance / improvement, patient care, public access, medical control, disaster preparedness, public education and / or training, and support, involvement and dedication to their EMS community and profession.”
“It is a testament to our members that they continue to set outstanding examples for their brothers and sisters in EMS,” said IAEP National Representative Bret Cyr. “I congratulate Ron on the award and look forward to joining everyone at the ceremony in July.”
