Local 777 Ratifies New Contract Agreement

October 19, 2009

Members of Local 777, EMS professionals with the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, recently ratified a new contract agreement.

The new agreement not only includes wage increases for every member, but also protections to current health care benefits. Members of the negotiating committee worked diligently to double the number of holidays from four to eight as well as establishing a "lump sum" retirement package.

"The Fire Department was very cooperative," said Local 777 President Tim Baldwin. "They realized it was time to compensate us for the great work we do everyday."

The negotiating committee also negotiated a clause stating that the union and management agree that no work can be contracted out of the local. This assures continued quality services for the communities in which these members serve.
