The members of Local 630, EMS professionals with Palos Fire Protection of Illinois, recently ratified their first contract agreement.
The agreement, which was ratified unanimously, includes significant wage increases as well as language assuring job security for these EMS professionals. While many similar positions are being phased out across Illinois, the members of Local 630 negotiated language stating they are no longer "at will" employees.
"Successfully negotiating job security for all of our members makes this contract a huge success," said Local 630 President Bob Murphy. "We're also very happy to receive wage increases in this economy."
