EMS Professionals with AMR of Las Vegas Prepare for Informational Picket

February 12, 2009

EMS professionals with AMR of Las Vegas will hold an informational picket outside of AMR's Las Vegas headquarters on Friday, February 13 over management's continued attempts to stall the bargaining process.

Despite returning to the negotiating table, management has rejected almost every union proposal, continuously walked away from the table and repeatedly rejected the use of a mediator appointed by Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services. Management had agreed to return to the bargaining table in good faith after SEIU Local 1107 rescinded their strike notice set to take affect in November 2008.

"Our bargaining team has done everything in their power to keep negotiations moving forward," said Chief Negotiator Christian Cloen. "While the entire process has been frustrating, we are hopeful that Friday's picket will once again force management to work with us at the table."

The EMS professionals of AMR Las Vegas were previously prepared to strike over management's continued refusal to bargain with SEIU due to their issue over the servicing agreement between SEIU Local 1107 and the IAEP / SEIU Local 5000.
