Paramedics Plus Announces Plans to Sell

On Thursday, March 30, 2017, East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) announced to employees the potential sale of the organization’s EMS divisions Paramedics Plus and ETMC EMS. Union leaders from the IAEP are working closely with management to stay fully informed of any changes or developing plans.

“Management has made it clear that this could result in a wholesale of the company,” said IAEP National Director Phil Petit. The timeframe for the sale provided to IAEP leadership today was approximately 6 months, however this cannot be guaranteed. “This process can be complex and will involve a great deal of moving parts, but the IAEP will be updating our members every step of the way,” said Petit

Union leaders have been assured by management that this will not affect the services provided to patients or the communities in which IAEP members serve. EMS professionals should not see any changes in their daily routine or workplaces.

The IAEP will continue working closely with management to remain informed and continue to update members with news and developments. IAEP members are encouraged to reach out to local union leaders with questions or concerns.

NOTE: If any changes do occur in your workplace, the IAEP advises you to report them to your local union leaders or your IAEP national representative.
