IAEP Provides Care to Injured Spectators at Volusia Speedway Park

Late on Sunday evening, February 19, IAEP members in Volusia County, Florida, provided care to multiple injured people after a sprint car flipped over the fence at Volusia Speedway Park.  

The Volusia County Sheriff’s office tweeted that two of the three injured were trauma alerts. One of the injured has since been released from Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach. 



IAEP Local 77 posted an update to their Facebook page Monday night, “Medic 254, Medic 238, and Medic 344 responded with units from The Volusia County Professional Firefighters Association and Air One for multiple injured fans at the Barberville Speedway.

"We have implemented additional safety measures and are very proud of our emergency medical personnel and their response to the incident," said Speedway Park CEO Brian Carter according to a report on ESPN.com.

The IAEP wishes a strong and healthy recovery to those injured in the accident.
