Following a recent decision by the National Labor Relations Board, management with the Stafford Ambulance Association of Connecticut were forced to admit retaliatory actions against IAEP members, including verbal threats and the suspension of union supporters. The EMS professionals of the Stafford Ambulance Association are members of IAEP Local R1-684.
The NLRB decision requires management to make all of the employees affected by retaliation whole, and all those terminated must be offered their position with full back pay and benefits. Management must also post a list of their illegal actions and a copy of the decision against them in the workplace.
“This victory proved to management that our members won’t be pushed around,” said National Representative Steven Weigand. “Not only will all of the members affected be made whole, but the residents of Stafford will now receive the quality services they are used to.”
